Details: Our turmeric is organically grown turmeric (we are not certified organic). We have two varieties (allepy and madras). Allepy is a darker orange turmeric which is commonly used for middle eastern cooking. Allepy and madras can be used interchangeably in cooking. Allepy has a stronger, earthier taste so you should use a little less. Your food will also be darker in colour.
We have been growing turmeric since 2011. We process our turmeric by hand. It is processed to Indian Government standards (which we find to be the highest standard). We process our turmeric in Maitland. We take it from the ground to the jar and it never leaves our sight. We do not outsource any part of the process.
